Hazaaron Khvaahishen Aisi
22 05 2006Mood: Try to make a CHANGE
hazaaron Khvaahishen aisi ki har khwahish pe dam nikle
bahut nikle mere armaan lekin phir bhi kam nikle
niklana khuld se aadam ka sunte aaye hain lekin
bahut beaabaru hokar tere kuche se ham nikle
muhabbat mein nahin hai farq jine aur marne ka
usi ko dekh kar jite hain jis kaafir pe dam nikle
Khudaa ke vaste pardaa na kabe se uthaa zaalim
kahin aisa na ho yahan bhii vahi kaafir sanam nikale
hahan maikhaane ka daravaza ‘Ghalib’ aur kahaan vaaiz
par itna janate hain kal vo jataa tha ke ham nikale
- Mirza Asadullah Khan ‘Ghalib’

Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna Ab Humare Dil Mein Hai
22 05 2006Mood: Anti-Reservation

What is LIFE ???
7 05 2006Mood: Sad
I never thought of writing a sad or ‘low’ posts on my blog…and trust me, i was avoiding to write this blog from a long time. But finally my mind ceased thinking abt this in front of my heart and i felt i should write this post. This is about an incidence that happened few weeks back. Me and few of my friends were invited for some muscle work at our bosses new house. The house is really beautiful and located between a quiet complex. This post is not about the house though. Just in front of his house, there was this another similar house, inhabited by a Patel family. From what my boss commented, i understood that they were pretty friendly. Especially an old guy living there. This guy stays there with his daughter and son-in-law. Must be in his 60s. When we reached there, he came out of his place and started talking to us all. Our boss trying to escape, told him that Gaurav (me) and Tej are Gujratis too…so you can talk with them easily…and we started the conversation: The Old guy (Mr.A) and me.
Mr.A: So you understand Gujrati?
me: Yes, Ofcourse…we are here in US from last 16 months only
Mr.A: Oh ok…have u heard of the place named mehsana in India?
me & Tej: Yes, we have heard abt this place…
Mr.A: I was a textile merchant for 34 years there!
me: Ohhh…thats really nice to hear uncle
Mr.A: Yeah, i have complete indepth knowledge of every fabric and the colours used!
me & Tej: Wow…
After this conversation we were called by our boss to have a look at the backyard of the house…it was wonderful…very spacious and clean. Just after that he (boss) said something that disturbed me a lot…he said, this backyard is cleaned by Mr.A at the rate of 8$ per hour………..and he (Mr.A)was more than happy to get that amount as he is addicted to alcohol n needs it almost everyday…so the work actually made a good source of money for him…..
Few hours later, i asked my boss…Mr.A stays in a house (appro 400,000$) and still has to do this kind of work..why? my boss was not aware of it, he just said, Mr.A stays with his daughter n son-in-law…and his wife is no more…
This incident made me think again and again and again…heres a person in his 60s..who has been a successful textile merchant for 30 odd years…and now he has to do this !!! and that too when he doesnt have his wife with him for support…my heart just wept…and mind wandered to get the anwser of that one question…What is LIFE ??? and Where is it heading to ???…

Bhagwad Geeta Saar…
4 05 2006Mood: Spiritual
1) The body is unreal. It is like a garment worn by the self. The self is real and permanent. It is not subject to death or destruction. It is an aspect of the Supreme Self. A man with unstable mind is not fit for salvation. Instability of the mind is due to attachment and desire for sense objects. The mind is kept restless by the wandering senses.
2) The Karmayogi performs actions only with his senses, mind, intellect and body, giving up all attachment for his inner purification, offering the fruit of his actions to God. Mentally renouncing all actions and self-controlled, he lives in his body happily, neither acting nor making others act. Offering the fruit of actions to God, he attains peace in the form of self-realization. He becomes one with God and attains liberation.
3) God dwells in the body as Adhidaiva, as the inner witness. At the time of death he who remembers God alone, attains Him without any doubt. Therefore one should remember Him at all times, with mind and intellect absorbed in Him. By constant practice of yoga, his mind without thinking anything else, constantly meditating on Him, he attains the Supreme Divine.
4) The Whole universe is permeated by God. All beings exist in him. At the beginning of every cycle of creation, He creates multitude of beings and keeps them under the influence of Prakriti, His Lower Nature. These works do not bind Him, for he is unattached and indifferent to these actions.
5) The body is the field of activity and God dwells in the body as the Knower of the Field. The body is made up of five great elements, the intellect, the unmanifest nature, the ten senses, the mind and the five objects of the senses. It is also the seat of all desires, feelings, emotions and mental energy. The knower of the body is the Supreme Brahman who resides in the body as the indwelling soul.
6) Sattva, rajas and tamas are the three gunas born of Prakriti which bind the imperishable soul to the body through attachment. Sattva is pure and luminous and it binds the soul through attachment of happiness and knowledge. Rajas is born of passion and binds the soul through attachment to the fruits of actions. Tamas is the quality born of the dark ignorance and indolence and it binds the soul through negligence, sloth and sleep. These three gunas bind the soul to the illusion and chain of births and deaths. A devotee, through the grace of God, can overcome these three gunas and attain salvation.
